Here is the scoop on what the Arkansas
Bead Society - Home Chapter has in
mind for OCTOBER 5th, 6th, & 7th, 2007 It's hard to believe this will be the 8th year for our bead retreat! As things have worked out, we are going back to our beginnings and using a house to bead in. Those of you who have been here for ABC6 and ABC7 may remember that we beaded upstairs and ate downstairs at Michelle's Restaurant. Unfortunately for us, Michelle's has closed and it didn't work out for us to bead in that building this year. But never fear! Our beady-minds got in gear and we "tweaked" the pattern, so to speak. 3 nice homes have been reserved (NO SMOKING, NO PETS) The Hillhigh Hotel has been renovating its rooms and they are now nice, so that is also a choice. Make your own reservations. Phone # upon request. Meals include dinner Friday night, light lunch Saturday, dinner Saturday night. Coffee and tea will be available at the "bead house". We will have a vendor at the "bead house" (Hopefully Ellie Roy). Classes will be limited to 8 and most will be taught twice. We plan on 3-4 separate classes per 2- hour session. Breakfast will be on your own or at your rental house. There are 2 nice restaurants here in Horseshoe Bend for breakfast. If you need to have something to drink other than coffee/tea, please bring it with you or purchase here. Snacks to share will be welcome! Now for some GREAT news! The whole weekend-room, food, and registration-will only cost $100!!! We will have a delicious barbeque buffet on Friday night, very informal. Saturday noon we plan on fresh-cut deli meat, bread, veggies & dip, and fixin's. Dinner on Saturday, it will be home cooked turkey and ham with casseroles, fixin's, and apple pie or a delicious cake. Someone might even slip up and get some ice cream to go with dessert. If there is a problem with the food choices, please let us know and we will see if we can help you. READ THIS: $50.00 will get you a reserved spot. NO REFUNDS AFTER AUGUST 30, 2007. $50.00 balance paid by September 15, 2007 We will accept no more than 30 beaders. If you have roommate choices let me know when you send your checks. If anyone is interested in an "Introduction to the Versa Loom" class please let me know as soon as possible. You will have to have a Versa Loom to be included in the class.
